The Haven is a beautiful, centrally located subdivision in Shreveport near all the shopping and restaurants on Youree Drive. Just like most homes built in mid 2000, the finished materials such as cabinets, stone, tile, and wall colors were neutral and basic at best. These muted finished were most likely installed to attract many buyers that could move in and bring in their own style through furniture, decor, and paint.
Now that we are into the year 2024, home design styles and materials have evolved over the years. Anything goes seems to be the theme lately. Decorating and remodeling homes is becoming a personal choice rather than following a set of rules.
This Haven master bathroom was in a home built in 2007 with all it’s builder grade finishes. The homeowners were ready to give their home more personality and channel their own style.
The first item on their wish list was to remove the unused whirlpool tub and build a big walk-in shower instead. They wanted updated white shaker cabinets, white tiles and more storage.
We walled up the windows on the interior and removed them on the exterior giving plenty of wall space open for the new shower. Add a bench, a decorative inlay, 4 shampoo niches add beautiful black and white tile and you got one gorgeous classy shower. And how about those his and her vanity areas? Style and storage galore.
Another fantastic transformation for such a wonderful couple that deserve a serene space to begin and end their day.
