A Magical Transformation
This was such a fun family to work with on their Tuscany kitchen remodel.
Busy, busy they are and the kitchen plays a huge part of their lives. They not only cook and eat here, but do homework, crafts and love to entertain.
This family’s wish was a wall of cabinets/storage, a bigger island, open concept, bar for the kids to sit, a huge dining table and a mom homework area for herself.
Removing walls in software is the easy part. Making sure structurally it can happen is the important part. Because this is a two story home, one column was needed to hold the weight but because I am a bit OCD, I added another for balance and aesthetics.
The results were magical, as you can see in the before & after image on the right. Just move the slider handle left and right to see the dramatic difference!
Before:
These pictures show the original kitchen with a separate dining area walled off from the livingroom.
Rendering:
This rendering floor plan reflects removing the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room, creating a much larger open kitchen & dining area.
The Completed Tuscany Kitchen
The completed project reflects the clients desire for an open space for the family to interact while cooking, dining, and doing crafts or homework. Both are now much more open to the livingroom area, as well.
