We at Ashley’s Building ask you many questions to get to know you, your style, what your vision and mission is for your remodeling or building project and more.

Because we believe in complete transparency, we also want you to know what type of people we are and how we handle our business. With our team being in your home for weeks and sometimes months at a time, you should feel confident in our company way before demo day.

These are the most frequently asked questions, and more, to give you more insight on our team, our business and our background.

Q: Are you licensed and Insured?

A: Yes! We are licensed in Residential Construction #86459 and Commercial Construction #40938 and hold insurance worth 2 Million dollars. We show everyone our licenses and insurance as well as other credentials during our very first meeting.

Q: Do you give free estimates?

A: No and yes. I’ll explain….

We are extremely hands on with our homeowners and dedicate a tremendous amount of personal time to their projects. Our time is extremely valuable not only to us but to them.

When we provide an estimate for our clients, it is completely itemized and to the penny. We do not throw out a verbal number to have you sign a contract and surprise you with a change order half way through construction because “we forgot something.” Our clients hire us because they know our reputation of fair price, quality, honesty and that We Build It Right The First Time.™

When we first talk with a potential client, a budget range is discussed and agreed upon. We then enter into a Design/Retainer Agreement which allows us to roll up our sleeves and focus on you and your project. SEE OUR PROCESS. for full details of this retainer.

There is a fee for this retainer but the good thing is we credit it back to you once we enter into a construction contract. This fee covers our time dedicated to you in redesigning your project, preliminary and investigative work of the project area, meetings with you and our suppliers, assisting you with material selections while remaining budget conscience and providing you with a precise and detailed itemized project cost. This is not a 2 day affair and does take time. We do a good job of doing “our project homework” so you will never have a change order surprise.

Q: How do you communicate with us once our remodeling project or build starts?

A: We love to communicate and educate our homeowners throughout the construction process, so not only are we on our job sites weekly and sometimes daily, we are in constant contact with you by either phone, text or email giving you play by play updates on your project. In additional to our personal communication, we use a construction database which we share with you, called BUILDERTREND . You will receive your own login that will allow you to see your project schedule, all your documents and forms, project pictures, and designs. This software can be accessed via mobile, tablet, laptop or desktop giving you complete remodeling peace of mind.

Q: Who will be overseeing our project?

A: Our Project Manager is Aaron Willard and will be assigned to your project. You will meet him as well as our team at the third meeting in OUR PROCESS.

He along with Ashley’s Building’s General Contractor, Adam Willard and Designer Lisa Willard will be on hand to ensure every aspect of your project runs smoothly.

Q: How do you keep the rest of our home clean when you are remodeling in another room?

A: Before demo day begins our crew will lay floor protection down on our path of entry into the project area. We install plastic Zip Wall Systems in doorways and openings into adjacent rooms which helps centralize the dust and dirt to the project area. This plastic wall has a vertical zipper which acts like a door given you freedom to move through the construction area if needed. We also use an air scrubber in the project area when sanding, spraying or kicking up any kind of dust. This air scrubber produces a negative air space and double filters the air in the space to lessen the remodeling debris in your home. We are also very mindful of cleaning daily. We joke saying our job sites are cleaner than our teenager’s bedrooms, however, if you have a teenager, you know this is most likely a true statement.

Q: Who is your “team.”

A: Our team consists of sub-contractors and our paid employees that we trust and we have been working with for many, many years. They are the best of the best in their industry, outstanding people, and love to give back to their community. They are not only colleagues, but friends and share the same work ethic and client first mentality as we do. You will meet our team at our third meeting.

Q: How long will my project take?

A: Because every remodeling project or build is different, the length of time for completion will vary. This is usually discussed during our first meeting.
