6 Steps To The Perfect Remodeling Experience

Step 1.

Our dedication to a remarkable remodel starts on the first phone call to our office.

We will ask you important key questions regarding your remodeling project which will assist in helping your family achieve the perfect project design and construction. You may be asked to email us pictures of inspirational photos you have been saving on Pinterest or Houzz which gives us a head start regarding the style and design you are envisioning for your new space.

Your in home consultation with owners Adam and Lisa Willard is scheduled at this time.

Step 2.

Your in home consultation consists of looking over the project area and asking you a series of questions to gain a solid understanding of your project goals.

After viewing the project area, we will explain how our design/build process works, show you our license, certificate of insurance, industry affiliations, accreditations, awards and will share past client remodeling designs and photos. While it is extremely important we understand you, we feel that it is equally important that you understand who we are and how we operate professionally.

A budget range is thoroughly discussed so we can provide the best and most cost effective design for your family. Once the budget range is determined and agreed upon, we enter into a design/build retainer agreement. The basis of this agreement gives you our undivided attention and continues the process of working with you to start all the preliminary work needed to design a remodeled space you and your family will love. The design/build retainer agreement requires a small financial commitment on your part and will be credited back to you once we move into the construction phase of your project.

<strong/>Step 3.</strong>

Step 3.

After you sign off on the design/build retainer agreement, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. Your personal designer, Lisa is assigned to you and works very closely with you to zero in on your design taste and your family’s personal style. She will redesign your space according to your needs, best layout while adhering to proper building codes. Once you approve of the redesign, Lisa assists you with selecting the proper materials for your space. From countertops, lighting, flooring, cabinet style, hardware, fixtures, to colors. You are never alone in your remodeling process. We want you to have fun, be relaxed and enjoy every moment.

A pre-construction meeting is then scheduled at your home to introduce you to our talented trades and team so they can begin to work off our designs and properly analyze your project area.

Step 4.

After our team has thoroughly inspected your project area, we schedule a final meeting to present you with a very detailed and itemized project cost estimate. We walk you through this estimate, explaining every aspect of the construction involved. Once there is a clear understanding of the details and cost of your project, an Ashley’s Building and Construction contract is signed and you are put on our schedule.

Owner and General Contractor, Adam Willard, will go over the construction process with you again which covers payment schedules, start date, approximate duration of the construction and daily work times. We discuss any special considerations we need to adhere to or be aware of while working in your home.

We then begin all the behind the scenes work such as pulling permits, construction documents, installation plans, product ordering and trade scheduling.

<strong/>Step 5.</strong>

Step 5.

Now that your project has begun, your home and your family will be respected, kept safe and clean, making sure that the areas of your home that are not being renovated will be protected to minimize construction dust.

You will receive daily updates on the phases of the remodel via phone call, text, email or face to face. Communication and education throughout the construction phase is extremely important to us. The more you know and understand about what is going on in your home every step of the way, the better.

In addition to our personal communication, we use a construction database software called BUILDERTREND which we share with all our clients. This allows you, the homeowner, access to your project calendar, on the job pictures, status updates, copies of your forms and contracts, copies and pictures of your project designs and more. This software can be accessed via desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet device giving you complete remodeling peace of mind.

<strong/>Step 6.</strong>

Step 6.

The final punch list has been done and you are enjoying your new remodeled space, but your peace of mind does not end there. Ashley’s Building provides a minimum 1 year warranty. We are committed to giving you the same high level of service and attention you received during your design and construction phases, so we will keep in touch with you throughout the first year to make sure you are getting the most out of your remodeled home.
